Superior Air Parts, Inc., is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Superior Aviation Group. The company was founded in 1967 by Burt "Inky" Dedmon, with the goal of providing modern and cost-effective FAA-approved Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) replacement components for piston aircraft engines.

The company currently holds over 3,500 FAA-PMAs, making it the leading provider of PMA aftermarket replacement parts for Lycoming and Continental piston aircraft engines. Superior Air Parts is best known for its line of Millennium Cylinders®.

Since their introduction in 1991, over 200,000 Millennium Cylinders have flown tens-of-millions-of flight hours around the world. In 2001 the Millennium Cylinders Generation II® were introduced with a list of refinements and performance enhancements.

One important differentiator between the Millennium Cylinders and the other new products and the parts the company offers is that the Superior-designed and manufactured parts are certified to the latest Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) Part 33, where as the majority of the parts used in OEM engines were most likely certified to the much older Civil Air Regulations (CAR) Part 13.

In addition to its extensive array of piston engine FAA PMA parts and components, Superior Air Parts produces the 180-horsepower, FAA-certified Vantage Engine, as well as its family of XP-Engines for experimental and kit aircraft builders.
